Kroger and Ocado host Groundbreaking Ceremony in Groveland for second U.S. customer fulfillment center
Kroger and Ocado will celebrate the official groundbreaking for the second U.S. high-tech customer fulfillment center and the introduction of Kroger and Ocado to the state of Florida. Representatives of both companies, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the city of Groveland will be on site to share remarks at the ceremonial event.

“I am pleased to announce that after a trip this week to meet with federal lawmakers and key agency staff members in Washington, all indications are that the bulk of the $7.8 million in funding owed to Lake County from Hurricane Irma recovery are likely to be received by the end of August."

Lake County to celebrate grand opening of new Fruitland Park Library
The Lake County Library System and City of Fruitland Park will host a grand opening ceremony for the Fruitland Park Library on Friday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at 604 W. Berckman St., Fruitland Park. The free event is open to the public, and will include a ribbon cutting, presentations, refreshments and live music. The first 500 patrons will receive an exclusive library card featuring a picture of the new library.

Lake County Fire Rescue outfitted with new protective gear for active attacker response
Lake County Fire Rescue has added another tool to its arsenal to increase public safety. The new protective gear, funded by a $34,000 state Emergency Medical Services grant, is specifically designed for members of Lake County’s Rescue Task Force to respond to an active attacker situation. The gear includes: ballistic vests, ballistic helmets, bleeding control bags, medical gear, tourniquets, and rapid extraction patient movers.
