Lake County hosts professional speakers for July 8 workshop

Lake County is hosting an “Envisioning Better Communities Workshop” on Wednesday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eustis Community Center, 601 Northshore Drive.

LakeXpress bus system officially connects with LYNX

During a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning, officials from Lake County, City of Umatilla and the Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) trumpeted the arrival of a new bus route for LakeXpress, Lake County’s public transportation service, that connects it to LYNX, Central Florida’s Regional Transportation Authority.

The Lake County Department of Community Services has completed the One-Year Action Plan for fiscal year 2009-2010 outlining proposed uses of Lake County's Community Development Block Grant funds between Oct. 1, 2009, and Sept. 30, 2010.

Lake County volunteers participate in St. Johns River Cleanup

Seventeen volunteers joined the Lake County Department of Environmental Utilities in the 13th Annual St. Johns River Cleanup earlier this month to collect 1,100 pounds of trash.
